The available 10.1-inch LCD Capacitive Portrait Touchscreen provides a vibrant, customizable display at your fingertips.
Comfortably Seats up to Seven
Available PowerFold® third-row seats make it easy to accommodate passengers and cargo. With the seats up, the Ford Explorer® SUV can carry seven people. They also quickly fold down for more cargo room.
Customize Your Drive Modes
The different drive modes are Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Trail and additionally on models equipped with Intelligent 4WD, Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, these modes can automatically modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system for optimized performance.
Normal Mode
For everyday driving. This mode is a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and convenience.
Eco Mode
This mode is for responsible, efficiently minded driving.
Sport Mode
This mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel and shifting.
Tow/Haul Mode
This mode changes shift points under acceleration to keep the vehicle further up in the power range while driving over rolling terrain for an optimized towing experience.
Slippery Mode
This mode lowers throttle response and optimizes shifting and can be used for crossing terrain where a firm surface is covered with loose, wet or slippery material.
Trail Mode
This mode lets you set a desired speed for off-road driving, and controls acceleration and braking on challenging road conditions.
Deep Snow/Sand Mode
This mode is for off-road driving on soft, dry sand or deep snow. It’s only available on Explorer® models equipped with Intelligent 4WD.
Multi-Color Ambient Lighting
Set the mood with seven colors of available ambient lighting for the first and second rows. This lighting system adds to the immersive experience that comes with the available B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® with 12 speakers, include a subwoofer.
Twin-Panel Moonroof
The available twin-panel moonroof does more than just let light in. It offers an impressive view of the sky and lets you feel the warmth of the sun.
PowerFold® Third-Row Seat
When you need it, the available PowerFold® third-row seat gives you the ability to fit up to seven passengers. When you don’t, fold it down with the push of a button for extra cargo space.

The 2024 Ford Explorer Timberline model is our most off-road capable Explorer. Features include steel front, rear and underbody skid plates for added protection, off-road tuned front struts and rear shocks, TORSEN® limited-slip rear axle, and a higher ground clearance of 8.66 inches compared to 7.9 inches on the Explorer Base model. This bold look is complete thanks to 18″ all-terrain tires, exclusive badging, and off-road auxiliary lighting provisions.
Explorer® ST-Line
The 2024 Ford Explorer ST-Line model offers a performance-inspired design with the latest tech to match paired with the popular 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 engine. It also features 20″ machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets, unique headlamp and taillamp blackout treatments, a bold EXPLORER hood badge, and Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist+ Technology.
Explorer® King Ranch®
Powered by the 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine and featuring unique King Ranch® badging, Del Rio Leather with Lasso-Perforated Inserts, eye-catching 20″ 10-spoke aluminum wheels and, an available Twin – Panel Moonroof – the 2024 Ford Explorer King Ranch model exudes luxurious Southwestern style.
Explorer® ST

The 2024 Ford Explorer Limited model comes with a 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4. Which features 20″ wheels, Satin roof-rack side rails, and the capability to tow up to 5,300 lbs. when equipped with the Class IV Trailer Tow Package.
Explorer® Platinum
The transcendent 2024 Ford Explorer Platinum model features the 3.0L EcoBoost® V6. The Explorer Platinum features 21″ machined aluminum wheels with Luster Nickel-painted pockets, a unique grille with Satin aluminum finish, Premium Silver-painted front and rear skid plates and adaptive headlamps to show the world you’ve arrived in style.
Explorer® XLT

The 2024 Ford Explorer® SUV has the strength to tow up to 5,600 lbs., when equipped with the Class IV Trailer Tow Package and the tech to help make it easier with Tow/Haul mode on the standard Terrain Management System™.

2024 Ford Explorer® models offer seating for up to six passengers when equipped with available second-row captain’s chairs and seating for up to seven when equipped with the second-row bench seat. Combined with 87.8 cu. ft. of cargo capacity behind the first row with the rear seats folded flat, 47.9 cu. ft. behind the second row with the third row folded and 18.2 cu. ft. behind the third-row seats, you can take everything from tents and coolers to sports equipment — along with everyone — on trips near or far.

2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine
This turbocharged powerplant churns out 300 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque for spirited drives around town or far from it. The 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine comes standard on the Base, XLT, ST-Line, Timberline® and Limited models.
3.0L EcoBoost® V6 Engine
The 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is the backbone of the ST, King Ranch® and Platinum model powertrains. It combines turbocharging and direct injection to produce 400 hp and 415 lb.-ft. of torque.
10-Speed Automatic Transmission
The 10-speed automatic transmission makes shifting gears a smoother, more efficient process, while helping to provide a wide power band for your performance and towing needs.
Side-Wind Stabilization
Standard on all 2024 Explorer® models, side-wind stabilization is designed to help the driver keep the vehicle on its path when encountering high or gusty winds.

This feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path. If an impact becomes imminent and you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically. But don’t worry – they’ll only activate if needed.
Lane-Keeping System
Lane-Keeping System scans your vehicle’s position between the lines in the road ahead and can alert you if you’re starting to drift. If you drift a few times, you’ll see a coffee cup icon on the windshield, letting you know it’s time to take a break.
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) helps you keep pace on your journey and features Speed Sign Recognition that can slow down your vehicle if the traffic ahead has stopped or slowed. ACC with Stop-and-Go can even help you come to a complete stop. As soon as things clear, you’ll resume your set speed. The added Lane Centering feature also scans lane markings to help you keep your vehicle centered between the lines.

Post-Collision Braking and Rear Parking Sensors
Post-collision braking automatically applies moderate brake pressure when a collision is detected. The standard rear parking sensors emit a series of beeps when you’re nearing certain objects behind your vehicle. The closer you get to the object, the quicker the beeps.
